First Impressions: KIKO Milano

When I was in Italy, my friends and I came across an Italian makeup store called KIKO Milano. Everything was so inexpensive that we decided to go a little crazy and buy some of everything. This was my first time wearing it since I have been back home and I have mixed feelings about the products. Overall, I feel like I got what I paid for. I am not amazed with it, but I can’t say that I hate it either.

Eyeshadow Palette

I really like the colors in this palette. I used the darker shade of nude on my lid and the lighter shade to highlight up to my eyebrow. The blue colors didn’t show up quite like I expected so I didn’t use them this time. The nudes were fine and served their purpose for a very basic eyeshadow, but I do own better ones. In the picture, it doesn’t really look like I have any eyeshadow on at all.

Colored Mascara

I thought that the teal mascara would be really fun, but sadly it was very dry and did not go on well. You couldn’t tell I was wearing it at all. I was the most disappointed with this product. However, my friend wore one of the purple mascaras and it looked great! So maybe I just grabbed a bad tube.

Eyeliner

This was my favorite thing that I bought from KIKO. The black, crayon eyeliner has a unique shape to it that makes it easy to apply and it stays on really well. I have not had to sharpen it at all yet, but I honestly don’t know how I am going to accomplish that yet. That is the only downside to this product.

Bronzer

The bronzer seemed to be a good shade and it went on pretty well. At first I felt like I couldn’t see it on, but now that I have used it a few times I like it more. It doesn’t really cover up a lot, but it provides that little bit of a glow to your face.

Lipstick

The lipstick is a pretty color and it would totally work as an everyday shade. It was not sticky or hard to apply at all. It actually went on as smoothly as Chapstick. However, it is not long lasting at all.

Overall

Since I only paid about 3-8 euros for each individual product, it really wasn’t that bad, but it definitely didn’t exceed my expectations. I would still recommend that you visit one of these locations if you come by one because there is a really great variety. I would just make sure that you test the products before buying them. I really should have done that. I would be willing to shop there again as long as I tried everything before I bought it.
