30 Black-Owned Businesses To Shop Online

30 Black-Owned Businesses To Shop Online

This is a project I’ve been wanting to work on for a very long time. And of course there’s no better time to roundup my favorite Black-owned brands than during Black History Month! Although we’re at the end of February, I think it’s very important for everyone to shop Black-owned brands and learn about Black culture throughout the entire year. So please bookmark this post and refer back to it any time you’re looking for a cute new shirt, some beauty products, or home decor. You can also check out the work me and my team are doing in the shopping section at BuzzFeed, where we include tons of Black-owned brands in our articles.

Since I love to share so many Black-owned businesses both at my day job and on my Instagram, I thought it would be cool to compile them all in one place! Here are all of my tried and true Black-owned businesses to shop online, including fashion, beauty, home decor, and more:

Black-Owned Fashion & Accessory Businesses To Shop Online

Shop Kayla’s Chaos

I had to kick off the list with a little self-promo. In case you didn’t know, I have merch! Me and my best friend Kailena design small batch T-shirts and stickers as an extension of my blog. Shirts are available in sizes S–3X and you can follow the Instagram page here.

Adorned By Chi

This has been a favorite shop of mine for years! And I have purchased a lot of stuff over time. It’s a woman-owned business that sells apparel, stickers, accessories, and original manga featuring characters of color! We love to see it. And recently, they’ve even done a Hello Kitty merch collab. Apparel is available in sizes S–3X.

Lilly’s Kloset

A woman-owned clothing boutique that sells gorgeous shoes, dresses, pantsuits, and more. Everything is super sassy and bold and available in sizes S–3X.

Jane Dottie Vintage

The most gorgeous scrunchies I’ve ever seen! This woman-owned business with a focus on sustainability sells accessories, stickers, vintage clothing, and more. The unique scrunchies come in sizes mini to extra large and the big ones are so much fun to style!

Telfar

Telfar bags are basically the knew It bags! Nicknamed the “Brooklyn Birkin,” these simple chic shopping totes are incredibly versatile. They come in three sizes and a variety of gorgeous colors. But, you better sign up for those email alerts because the bags sell out in minutes! Telfar also sells apparel, jewelry, and other accessories. The designer has recently collaborated with Ugg.

Hanifa

Known for gorgeous knit garments, this woman-owned clothing shop offers elegant, timeless pieces that are still cool and trendy. I purchased this green skirt and oversized scarf and they are super comfortable — yet, still make me feel like I’m making fashion statement. We stan drama + wearability!

Brandon Blackwood

Another bag that’s gained traction on social media. This “End Systematic Racism” mini tote is one I was definitely influenced to buy after seeing some friends and other creators with it. Brandon Blackwood sells an array of structured bags and they’re all stunning. I def will be wanting another one soon!

Cee Cee’s Closet

This woman-owned shop sells different hair accessories, home decor, and body care products. But, they are most well-known for the gorgeous head wraps! The colorful designs are inspired by African culture and the products are handmade by tailors in Nigeria. I have a “shortie” style head wrap (not full size), and as you can see, there is still so much you can do with it! It’s sturdy, comfortable, and stays in place really well.

The Trini Gee

One of my favorite Etsy shops! This woman-owned biz sells TONS of different products inspired by Black culture. She sells totes, blankets, mugs, notebooks, and apparel. This dope crew neck features the faces of Black women in hip hop — obviously I had to have it!

DomoINK

This shop sells products that feature the work of California-based artist Domonique Brown. My friend and co-worker Quay shared these Basquiat-inspired sneakers with me and I bought them immediately. They’re SO lightweight and comfy. I also snagged the matching crewneck. The quality is great and the designs are so unique and eye-catching.

God Is Dope.

This popular brand is all about showing your faith, but in a ~cool~ way. I wanted one of these hoodies for a while and I finally got it for Christmas. It’s thick, cozy, and one of my go-to pieces!

Blk Confetti

Another awesome Etsy shop (although she has her own website too), Blk Confetti has the coolest handmade accessories. These iridescent Africa earrings add such a fun touch to any outfit. She also sells cool LED lights, hair charms, and keychains.

KIN by Kristine

Created by the plus size fashion influencer behind the blog Trendy Curvy, this clothing brand sells beautiful, vibrant garments that comfortably fit sizes 14–26. I had been eyeing this “CRVY” top for a while and finally bought it recently with a stretchy midi skirt. The tee is super duper soft with vinyl lettering and a curved hem.

Savage X Fenty

Rihanna can take all of my money! Savage X Fenty not only makes gorgeous size-inclusive lingerie, but also very comfortable bras and undies for everyday. I recently gushed about the brand in an interview for The Inventory.

V. Stella Rex

Created by one of my childhood friends, this Detroit-based streetwear brand sells uniquely designed unisex apparel and accessories. You can read all about their story in my small business spotlight.

Zelie for She

This woman-owned business sells glamorous plus size clothing in stunning prints and materials. From velvet dusters to sequin dresses, I can see myself spending a lot of money there in the future. I recently picked up a matching knit set and duster from her new Nordstrom collection, so photos will be coming soon!

Cushnie

Sadly, the Cushnie label recently shut down, but I still wanted to give it an honorable mention since you can still find some of Carly Cushnie’s designs at different retailers online. I really enjoy your crisp, clean silhouettes that are elegant and sophisticated, but still feel fun and stylish. This green dress is from her Target collection.

Black-Owned Beauty Businesses To Shop Online

The Lip Bar

One of my all-time favorite liquid lipsticks! I own at least four or five different colors. I love the bold shades. They’re matte and stay in place super well. Plus, they don’t flake or dry out my lips. Would def recommend giving them a try! You can also find them at Target.

Bread Beauty Supply

These hair products smell incredible! They’re specifically formulated for hair types 3a–4c. I’ve been using the shampoo and conditioner a lot lately and they make my curls feel so soft and moisturized. You can also find them at Sephora.

Fenty Beauty & Fenty Skin

Like I mentioned above, Rihanna can take all my money! Fenty Beauty has amazing lipsticks, highlighters, foundation, and I’ve recently started using the concealer too. You can check out my first impressions of Fenty Beauty for more details and product photos.

And Fenty Skin is my new holy grail skincare set! I use the three steps daily and my skin honestly feels so great. It’s almost time for me to buy some replacements! You can also find the makeup and skin products at Sephora.

Kinky-Curly

This line of products is meant to help curly and coily peeps embrace and enhance their natural texture. This leave-in detangler is highly rated, smells great, and adds a lot of moisture to my hair. This brand is woman-owned and you can also find their products at Target.

Miss Jessie’s

This woman-owned haircare brand was founded by two sisters. I love them because they have great hair gels that don’t cause flaking or gross residue. In addition to their wide variety of curly/wavy/kinky hair products, it’s also one of the first brands I’ve seen to create products specifically for multi-textured hair (which you can see below).

Deecoded Cosmetics

This small woman-owned business was founded by one of my college friends. I’ve tried her lipglosses and they have a pretty, natural tint and they’re NOT sticky! She also sells lashes, lip liners, and lip scrubs.

Lime Lyfe Hair

This is another Detroit-based biz owned by one of my girls (support your friends, people!) and it’s all about them bundles. Although I haven’t personally shopped this one yet, I have seen the founder’s hair in person many times and it’s stunning!! When I tell you she can get your hair looking RIGHT, I mean it.

Black-Owned Home & Decor Businesses To Shop Online

Legendary Roots

Another dope woman-owned business that I have shopped from multiple times. I really love the art prints, but they also have great apparel — all of it made in effort to empower the Black community. They also sell mugs, bonnets, totes, and other home goods.

Juicy Christians

This coffee mug was a gift from my grandma and I love it so much! The shop sells vibrant and inspiring artwork on mugs and greeting cards.

Karen Jai Home

This woman-owned business sells TONS of chic home items, including furniture, lighting, decor, drinkware, and more. I recently got this marble tray and I think it’s the cutest thing! I’ve already used it for photos (like the one below), for a charcuterie board, and to hold some of stuff while I’m chillin in bed.

Miscellaneous Black-Owned Businesses To Shop Online

Stylish Sista

I’m obsessed with this Etsy shop! I’ve ordered stickers on multiple occasions and convinced some of my coworkers to as well. I love their fun style and pop culture-inspired designs. In addition to cool stickers of your fave artist, you can also find very cute apparel, water bottles, and art prints.

McBride Sisters Wine

This is one of the biggest Black-owned wine companies in the country. I tried a bottle of the Black Girl Magic Rosé after finding it at Target and it was a really good (pretty strong) dry rosé made of a tasty blend of raspberry and orange blossom. 🍊

Vegan Pop Eats

Vegan Pop Eats is a woman-owned online community for people venturing into a plant-based lifestyle. Learn all about it in my small business spotlight!
