This year, I spent New Years Eve at my apartment in Downtown Detroit. This was my first chill NYE at home in a few years and honestly, I have no regrets. I think it was a really good start to a year of focus and being more grounded. Which brings me to my word/phrase for 2026: LOCK IN.
Last year, my word was “intentional” and I think it went… pretty okay lol. I did make some really meaningful and intentional changes in my life, like starting therapy, paying down some credit card debt, and moving into my very own two-bedroom apartment. And honestly, a lot of the stuff on my vision board did come true! I thought about using the same word again, but that’s too boring for me lol. Now that I have set a foundation for this next chapter in my life, I think it’s time to really lock in and take that progress to the next level.

My Vision for 2026
Not to jinx it, but I actually have a really good feeling about 2026. I already have my dream trip booked, I’m starting the year caught up on work at my 9–5, and I’m actually excited for my birthday — I’ll be 32 in 10 days! Although being in your 30s can feel scary for some, I’ve been choosing to go with the more positive narrative and mindset. Your thirties are literally still so young! It’s like your 20s, except with more money, confidence, and life experience. AND there are tons of women out there who, like me, are embracing being single and childfree in their 30s and beyond. It’s a new time and it’s an exciting one.
In 2026, I plan to “lock in” so I can be more financially responsible, strategic with my content, and mindful of my health (both physical and mental). And, of course, I want to have fun and experience the world while I do it. Here are some goals and plans I have for the new year:
- Celebrate my birthday with loved ones in Detroit.
- Take a birthday trip to New Orleans.
- Take my dream trip to Japan.
- Continue with therapy and learning about ADHD so I can be more productive and in-tune with myself.
- Create a new stream of income.
- Be more strategic with my content creation and find more ways to maximize my time and efforts.
- Read 15 books.
- Dedicate time to analog hobbies, like journaling, puzzles, painting, etc.
- Stay consistent in the gym and try some new workout classes.
- Cook new recipes and be more mindful of my eating habits.
- Find new ways to explore my faith, whether that’s a new church or bible study method, etc.

As you can see, some goals are specific and some are a bit more general. I think it’s good to have a mix, as long as you have some kind of idea of how you’ll measure your own progress. At the looks of it, my year is going to be busy! But also fun and fulfilling, and I can’t wait to see what unexpected blessings it brings. It’s time to lock in b*tch!!
