OOTD: Twenty-One

On Tuesday, January 20, I finally reached the legal age of going to the bar, ordering a specialty drink at a fancy restaurant, and getting a new license that is horizontal instead of vertical. Yes, that’s right, I am finally 21! For it falling on a weekday, it actually was a pretty nice day (aside from the heavy snow that occurs every single year on my birthday). The previous day, my little sister had already given me a special “sisterhood” necklace and went to the movies with me to see Annie so we started celebrating early since MLK Day fell the day before my birthday. On my actual birthday, one of my classes got out early and my last one was cancelled so I got to go home earlier than usual. My mom and I went and got deluxe pedicures at our favorite local place, Diva Nails. My mom and step-dad surprised me with a new 32″ TV for my room and a bright pink Marc Jacobs laptop case that I wanted. It was fabulous. Then, we went out to dinner at Red Lobster and I had yummy seafood accompanied by my first legal drink! It was a weak, fruity drink that my parents picked out for me, which was just fine with me since I’m not very big on alcohol to begin with. It was wonderful family time and I’m sure to get into some actual trouble this weekend with my friends, so be on the lookout for that post! Although it was freezing outside, I still wanted to feel like a birthday girl of course so I wore my new pink faux fur vest, an oatmeal turtleneck, jeans, lots of bling, and one of my favorite pairs of boots.
