When in Roma…
My foreign adventure began in Rome after an eight hour flight to Frankfurt, Germany, and then another two hour flight into Italy. Rome is an amazing, beautiful, and historic place. All I could think of was The Lizzie McGuire Movie when I arrived. I could hardly believe it was real life. But, it was real life, and every single ancient ruin and artistic architecture that you imagine when you think of Rome is exactly how you would picture it (except even more amazing). Since Rome is full of tourists, I didn’t run into hardly any issues of language barrier or extreme culture shock. Rome is very accommodating to it’s tourists and almost every menu and map can be found in both English and Italian. It was exhausting walking miles and miles on cobblestoned hills, but it was well worth it. Not to mention, the 50-60 degree weather was perfection.

My first passport stamp! And my first euro purchase, which was a water bottle at the Frankfurt, Germany airport.
The Roman Forum and Palatine Hill

We made it a thing to drink from all of the fountains we saw. I swear it wasn’t as unsanitary as it looks!
Hotel Corona

I opened up the large window next to my bed and could walk right out onto the balcony. It was so fabulous!
The Capitol Building
The Trevi Fountain
The Vatican City

You’re actually not allowed to take pictures inside the Sistine Chapel, but I snuck one that just so happened to be the most famous painting in the whole place. Haha (;
