Ipsy Review #4: “Alter Ego” October Glam Bag

This month’s glam bag had some interesting products! I love the alter ego theme, I think it’s perfect for Halloween. Here’s what I got:

Peter Lamas Exfoliating Pumpkin Facial Scrub

This was my favorite product this month! I’m already obsessed with pumpkin scents and pumpkin flavored anything. This facial scrub really feels like it’s cleansing my face. It makes my skin feel clean and smooth and it gets off all of my makeup pretty well, I love the smell, it was my ideal fall product.

AYRES Ipsy Exclusive Pampus Sunrise Hand Cream

This hand cream works really well. I hate when it starts to get cold outside and my hands are constantly dry. This is the perfect little lotion to keep in your purse. It’s thick so you don;t need to use a ton. It moisturizes really well.

Aurora Gel Effect Nail Polish in Inky Dinky

Unfortunately, I haven’t got around to using this nail polish yet. I really like the idea of a gel polish that doesn’t require UV lights to dry, however I am a little skeptical about it since I always seem to mess my nails up when I paint them myself. I love the color though. It is super edgy and moody. I’m excited to try it out.

theBalm Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) Hughes Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick

Honestly, this was my least favorite product. I love lipstick and the color is very nice, but it was too dry and it didn’t apply very smoothly. It flaked up and peeled on my lips and I didn’t even attempt to wear it all day because it was an uncomfortable feel. However, I do really like the smell and flavor, vanilla mint.

Coastal Scents Xpress Line Cosmetic Pencil

This eye liner works well for above your waterline. It is more subtle and not too dark. It applies fine, but it did get dull pretty quickly. Compared to my other pencil eye lines, I think one was average.

The Bag

The two-sided (metallic gold front and shiny black back) is super cute and totally fits the theme. I like the pouch silhouette of the bag and I’ve been carrying it in my backpack everyday because it fits all of my essentials, including my brushes!

xoxo, Kayla
