June 2018 Favorites + Reflection

I’m extremely late getting this up because June and July have been crazy! I’ve been focusing a lot of time on my blog redesign, but I definitely think it has been worth it! So, without further adieu, here are the things I was into in June!

JUNE FAVORITES:

Beauty Products: I FINALLY tried Glossier for the first time this month. I’ve really been liking their “Lash Slick” and “Lidstar.”Ā I’ll definitely be doing a full Glossier review post soon. I also tried a smaller makeup brand this month called Ritz & Glitz Beauty and they have some good products as well.

Movies: In June, I saw three really great movies: Ocean’s 8, Life of the Party, and Incredibles 2! Ocean’s 8 was a badass movie filled with badass females. I loved it! Life of the Party was extremely cute and funny. And Incredibles was a really wonderful sequel. It was even better than I thought it would be. If you haven’t seen any of those then you totally should!

TV Shows: I spent all month long binge watching Sex and the City on Amazon Prime! Although I’ve seen the show many times, this was my first time watching every single episode straight through ā€“ and it was glorious! I’m not going to lie, Carrie did get on my nerves a little bit, but the fashion, friendship, and feminism in the show are just so good! I think Samantha is my favorite, although Miranda really grew on me. If you have a favorite SATC character then let me know if the comments!

Books:Ā In June, I continued my current obsession with comics and graphic novels. I read volume two of Snotgirl, which was SO good, as well as Clueless: Senior Year. Clueless was cute and it did a really good job of capturing the characters of the movie, but I think I liked the plot and development of Snotgirl more. But if you want a quick, fun read, then I would totally recommend both.

Songs: This month I totally hopped on the Ariana Grande bandwagon. I’ve been loving “No Tears Left To Cry.” It has such a great beat! And I’ve also been listening to “Girls Like You” by Maroon 5 featuring Cardi B. The video is really cute with a lot of celebrities in it and I love the positive vibes of that song as well.

Places: The biggest thing I did this month was attend the NYC Pride Parade! Although it was really hot outside, my best friend Kailena and I had lots of fun checking out the floats and seeing all of the positivity. Check out my previous blog post to see my photos from the parade! I also checked out the Glossier showroom in Soho, went to Central Park for a photoshoot, and had brunch at a yummy spot called Sweet Chick. There is a blog post about all of that too! Some other fun things I did were go to a LoveSac event (where they gave me a free chair!), check out a Fenty Beauty pop-up shop, go to the Life Coach immersive pop-up, and check out a few new bars with my coworkers. The most notable one was Gilligan’s in Soho ā€“ the atmosphere is great and the frozen watermelon margarita was amazing! Oh and I also went to my first silent disco!

JUNE REFLECTION:

June was a very busy and productive month. With Pride, pop-up shops, happy hours, and all of the other fun things I did, I have to say it was a pretty fun month! Definitely full of friends and summer activities. My job also moved to a new office. Instead of working in Midtown, I’m in the Financial District now. It’s not a huge change as far as my actual job is concerned, just a new office environment and a new boss. So, as I’m sure you can tell, June was very hectic. But, I had a blast and I’m so happy to be in NYC where there is always so many cool things to do! šŸ™‚
