Anastasia Beverly Hills is one of the more popular makeup brands amongst beauty influencers, celebrity makeup artists, and Sephora junkies. I have tried a few different products from the brand before, but this is my first eyeshadow palette. As soon as I opened it I could tell it was high quality. From the packaging to the pigments, I was so excited to start using this bad boy!
The Riviera Palette retails for $45, but it’s currently on sale at Sephora for only $30! It is a vibrant eyeshadow palette that includes 14 beautiful shades of mattes, metallics, and duo chromes. And it’s paradise-inspired, so it’s pretty perfect for summertime. Here is a breakdown of the palette, in case you’re considering buying it.
Packaging
The case is really sturdy and has a very luxurious feel to it. The blue stripes give off a nautical vibe and the gold lettering just adds to the glamour. I think it feels very summery and it definitely made me excited to use it. When you open it, you’ll find a dual-ended makeup brush and a large mirror — making this the perfect palette for travel! The brush quality is pretty good too, I’ve been using it every time I use the palette. The larger end is a great blender and the smaller side transfers the pigments really well.
Swatches
The Riviera Palette includes 8 ultra-mattes, 4 metallics and 2 duo chromes. I was super impressed with these pigments! As you can see from the swatches, they really show up nicely. I think this palette has fantastic vibrant shades, but also has some really great transitional shades. The white works great for blending out some of the brighter colors. And I really love the bright pink and purple. I’m also impressed with the formula of the metallics and duo chromes — they really shine, while still having great color.
Makeup Look Using The Riviera Palette
As I mentioned above, I love the pinks and purple in this palette, so for this look I wanted to play with those shades. I used the metallic pink on the lid and blended in some of the matte purple on the outside. Then, I blended it out to the brow bone with the white matte. Finally, I applied the bright pink matte on my waterline for an extra pop!
