Another New York Fashion Week has come and gone. And honestly, I didn’t do much outfit planning beforehand. I took more of a go with the flow approach this season. All of these outfits were picked out pretty much the day of. I also didn’t email any PR companies or designers and ask to go to their shows. Instead, I just considered whatever landed in my inbox. The cool thing is, I still had a pretty full schedule, even without pitching! During the same week, I was also apartment searching and going to AfroPunk, so I attended what I could. Be sure to check out my full NYFW SS23 recap for what I saw on the runways and my overall thoughts on this Fashion Week.
Here’s all the details on my NYFW SS23 outfits:
Day 1 NYFW Outfit
On Friday, September 9, I had a my first (and probably busiest) day of the season. I went to two presentations, an event, a runway show, and had dinner with a friend. In between, I hung out at The High Line. I had been wanting to wear this faux leather skirt from Rebdolls for a while, I just needed the temps to drop a tiny bit. I paired it with my colorful bodysuit from Yitty (check out my full Yitty try-on haul). I played on the purple in the bodysuit by adding a purple bucket bag, purple sunglasses from Shein, and my purple Puma sneakers. And to add a little extra umph (and because my skirt was too big in the waist), I added my Gucci belt.
Day 2 NYFW Outfit
My second day of Fashion Week events was Monday, September 12, since I had AfroPunk over the weekend. I had two runway shows in the middle of the day. Since I still had to work, I wanted to wear something more simple and comfy. I went with my Fendi x Skims bodysuit and my new wide-leg stretchy trousers from Universal Standard. They were a bit long, so for shoes I went with my platform Converse. For accessories, I added some reflective Steve Madden sunglasses and my Ugg x Telfar bag.
Day 3 NYFW Outfit
On Tuesday, September 13, I just had one evening runway show. This outfit was thrown together at the last minute, but I really liked it! My orange dress is from the Alexis x Target collab. My bag is JW Pei, the sunglasses are Victor Gelmaud x Target, and the tights are from Snag. The eyelet booties are oldies, but goodies from Urban Outfitters.
Day 4 NYFW Outfit
My final look was put together to go with the aesthetic of Selkie, which is one of the two runway shows I attended that day. Since I didn’t have a Selkie dress, I went with a tulle skirt from Morning Lavender and a corset top with mesh sleeves from Shein. Since the skirt was black, I wanted to lighten the look with beige and gold accents. I added my Love Moschino sneakers, a JW Pei bag, a floral Betsey Johnson necklace, heart-shaped sunnies, and a headband from Anthropologie.
