What I Got From The H&M x Mugler Collection

When I first moved to NYC, I actually waited outside in a line for hours at 4 a.m. so I could shop the H&M designer collabs. I’ve snagged pieces from the Moschino and Giambattista Valli collections. It’s pretty surreal that this year I was invited to the launch party and fashion show, with early access to shop the collection. Life is wild! The H&M x Mugler collection, which officially launched on May 11, is sexy, edgy, and fun. It features mesh, cutouts, neon colors, and a lot of great pieces for going out.

The fashion show and launch party took place at the Park Avenue Armory in Manhattan. There was an open bar, moody lighting, and a lot of influencers, fashion industry people, and celebrities in attendance. The unique runway show featured multiple large stages and was intertwined with a concert. There were performances by Shygirl, Eartheater, and Amaarae. And between their sets, the models would strut in the collection, which featured bodycon dresses, sheer paneled bodysuits, structured blazers, and mini skirts.

What I Got From The H&M x Mugler Collection

As someone who is plus size (18/20) it can be tricky navigating designer labels, and that includes collaborations like this. So I wanted share what sizes I got and what the pieces look like on. Here’s what I purchased:

This powder blue cropped hoodie is a size XXL and it cost $74.99. Although it’s pretty simple, the material is very thick and comfortable. I will definitely be wearing this often.

I also got a royal blue and mesh printed T-shirt from the men’s collection. I’m wearing an XL and it cost $99. I love how it’s casual and comfy, yet sexy. And I got a black and white silk bandana in the same print for $64.99.
