A Look Inside Wonderland Dreams

Wonderland Dreams is an interactive art exhibit in Manhattan created by artist Alexa Meade. According to their website, Wonderland Dreams is the largest painting in the world! Alexa’s style is really cool because she paints directly on people and three-dimensional spaces to create illusions of real-life things being two-dimensional paintings. The experience is covered in her work from floor to ceiling and it spans over two floors and multiple rooms. The entire exhibit is inspired by Alice in Wonderland (hence the name), so there are clear references throughout. There is a tea party scene, rainbow rooms, small doors you can crawl through, oversized chairs to sit in, little houses that kids can play in, and more.

Obviously, it made for a great space to take photos, which is why I went. Pro tip: I brought two outfits so I could maximize my content and they had a couple of public restrooms, which made it so easy. And it’s definitely still fun if you’re not a content creator. They had games (like giant chess), props that went with each space, and there are additional experiences you can purchase. They have an “After Dark” experience where adults (21+) can paint and drink wine. And there’s also “The Mad Hatter’s Adventure,” which is family-friendly with painting, games, and character photo ops.

What I Wore To Wonderland Dreams

For my first outfit, I wore jeans from FashionNova, a bodysuit from Skims, a patchwork denim jacket from Forever 21, and platform Reebok sneakers. I went with a blue outfit to play off of Alice’s blue dress in the Disney movie — but in my own streetwear way.

I wanted to keep it simple for the second outfit so it was easy to change. The second look was a white satin dress from Shein and I just kept on the white sneakers. The white dress turned out to be a good choice because it really allowed the art to pop!

Tickets are still on sale from now through the end of June. They start at $39 for adults and $33 for kids, seniors, and veterans.
