In my opinion, you can’t really have too many cute swimsuits. But, I know finding a swimsuit that you feel great in can sometimes be stressful and feel like a lot of work. That’s why I wanted to share some of my fave places to browse for curve and plus size swimwear.
As a curvy woman, finding the right fit without ending up in something your grandmother would wear can be a challenge. When I put on a swimsuit I want to feel hot and confident. And if you think that you need a certain type of body to feel that way, then you’re sadly mistaken! Thanks to online shopping and the body positive movement, we now have a lot more options (although we still need more). It’s all about finding something you feel great in, whether you’re a size 4 or a size 24.
All of the options listed are places I have worn swimsuits from — and I included my own photos to give you a realistic idea of the style options and how they fit. Please note that some of these retailers are more size-inclusive than others. I know that when brands only go up to a size XXL or an 18 that it’s not good enough. There are plenty of bodies out there larger than mine that deserve quality, trendy, comfortable swimwear options. This is just me sharing places I have shopped to give readers with a similar style or body type ideas of where to look.
So, let’s get into it! Here are my suggestions of where to buy swimwear for curvy women:
Skims
Skims by Kim Kardashian is one of my favorite places to buy swim. Regardless of how you feel about the Kardashians, I do feel like Skims is a quality brand that offers both sexy and modest swim options in sizes XXS–4XL. I love how every style comes in all sizes and are all listed together. Meaning, there’s not a separate plus size section with way less options. Prices are not cheap, but not crazy expensive either (depending on how much you’re willing to spend on a quality swimsuit), ranging from $36–$94.
Gunmetal Tank Bikini Top & Cheeky Tanga Bottoms
Snag
Snag has been pretty much the only place I buy tights from for the last few years. So, of course, I was very excited when they started offering swim this year. Available in sizes 1–34, they have options that range from trendy to classic styles. Plus, it’s a woman-owned business!
Cut Out One-Piece
Tie-Front Bikini
Zip-Front Bikini
Flounce Tankini
Target
We all know and love Target — and swimwear is no exception. With tons of options available in stores and more than 2,000 online, it’s safe to say that there are a lot of different styles to choose from. They offer sizes XXS–3X, with pretty affordable prices ranging from under $10 for sale pieces to around $70 for some of the brand names they carry.
Green Shimmer Bikini
Yellow Polkadot Bikini
Shein
Trust me, I totally understand why many people do not support Shein. I 100% respect that decision. But, I’m including them because I have shopped there due to their low prices and inclusive sizing. There are hundreds of options in sizes XS–4XL.
Palm Print Long Sleeve Two-Piece
Cutout Plunging One-Piece
Fashion To Figure
Fashion To Figure is a plus size retailer that offers sizes XL–4XL. You can find some sale swim items for around $20, but most of their full-price options are around $50–$120. They have a lot of fun colors and silhouettes and have collaborated with a lot of top influencers and celebs, including Gabrielle Union, Patrick Starrr, Gabi Fresh, and more.
Tabria Majors x FTF Long-Sleeve Two-Piece
Aerie
Aerie is less size-inclusive than the others on this list, but I do like the swimwear I have bought from them. They offer sizes XXS–XXL — for reference, I’m a size 18/20 and I wear an XXL. Since the brand is geared towards teens and young adults, you’ll find a lot of vibrant and trendy designs.
One-Shoulder Tie Dye One-Piece
Swimsuits For All
Offering sizes 4–40, Swimsuits For All is one of the OG places to find inclusive swimwear. Since the entire retailer is dedicated to swimwear, they have options for all ages, preferences, and body types.
I’m not sure where the top is originally from, but these bottoms are my favorite for mixing and matching!
Forever 21
Forever 21 is another popular fast fashion retailer that offers sizes XS–3XL at pretty low price points. I would say the quality is what you expect (similar to Boohoo, Pretty Little Thing, etc).
Leopard Print One-Piece
Black Plunging One-Piece
To this day, I always get compliments on this one! And people are always surprised to hear that I got it from F21.
CALIA by Carrie Underwood
CALIA is singer Carrie Underwood’s brand and it offers swim in sizes XXS–3XL. The brands main focus is fitness apparel, but they do have a few pages worth of swim options to check out. Most of the styles are more on the modest side, with prices around $20–$50.
Amazon
Of course, I had to include Amazon on this list. The fast-shipping retail giant has thousands of swim options at a variety of prices and sizes. Although many styles may only come in XS–XL, if you search for plus options, you can definitely find plenty that go up to a size 5XL or even 6XL.
Pink Fringe Bikini Top (comes with matching bottoms)
Boohoo
I like Boohoo because of their fun, colorful styles. Basically all of the swim options are under $50 and they offer a size range of 0–24.
Plunging One-Piece
The exact one I’m wearing is old, but they still have a very similar option for less than $10 right now! It’s def giving Baywatch vibes.
Nasty Gal
Like Boohoo (they are owned by the same company), you will always find affordable, trendy swim options that are on sale at Nasty Gal. They offer sizes 0–22 with prices as low as $10 for a one-piece.
Yellow Tie-Front Bikini
Dalmatian Open Back One-Piece
Hermoza
Hermoza offers modest luxury swimwear styles in sizes 2–14 (although I’m pretty sure they used to go up to a size 18 when I got the swimsuit below). Most pieces are between $50–$200. The brand’s main focus is swim and resort wear and the quality is pretty high-end. It is also a woman-founded brand.
Although they don’t have this color anymore, they do have plenty of other color options in the same style!
Figleaves
Sadly, Figleaves has shut down. But, I still wanted to include them because you can find some their swimsuits on other sites like Simply Be, ASOS, and Amazon. The options come in UK sizes 8–26, with most of their bikini tops being offered in bra sizes up to a 48DD.
More Retailers That Sell Plus Size Swimwear
There are still plenty of great options out there that I haven’t tried yet! I’ll be sure to update this post when I do! But in the meantime, here’s a list of some other retailers (and their size ranges) that you can check out!
- Cupshe (XS–4XL)
- Good American (XS–5XL)
- ASOS (0–26)
- Pretty Little Thing (XS–5XL // 00–26)
- Eloquii (14–32)
- Torrid (M–6XL // 10–30)
- Adore Me (XS–4XL)
- Nordstrom (carries multiple brands, sizes XXS–4XL)
