In September, I went to the Usher “Past Present Future” World Tour with my auntie and her friends in Detroit. In the last year, I’ve gone to more concerts than I normally do, but they’ve all been so much fun! When my aunt invited me, I knew right away it was going to be a good show that I didn’t want to miss. I wanted to see Usher when he had his residency in Vegas, but I just couldn’t swing it at the time. I’m happy I finally got the chance to see him live! Fun fact: Usher was my very first celebrity “crush” when I was probably, like, six.
I mentioned this in my post about the Nicki Minaj concert I went to, but basically, I’m really picky about what concerts I spend money on. I really want to know most of the artist’s music or I’ll get bored. So when I tell you that I knew every song Usher performed except maybe 2-3 of them, I am not exaggerating. I was jammin’!
For my outfit, I wanted to have fun with it but still be comfy. I honestly got ready pretty last minute because I was working (the concert was on a Thursday). I went with a mesh floral mini dress (that I wore as a top) that I got from Shein. Since that was the main focus, I styled around that. I added some black lace-layered shorts, which are also from Shein. For shoes, I went with some Nike Dunks that had green laces to match the top. And to give the look some extra oomph, I added a pair of large green statement glasses that I found at Buffalo Exchange while I was in NYC.
The show was very entertaining! Of course, Usher had some great dance routines and his voice sounds SO good live. He’s truly so talented. He even roller skated on the stage, and to say it was impressive would be an understatement. He performed so many of his old hits, so it was a lot of fun to sing along to almost every number. And did I mention how FINE he is?? Big Sean came out for a few songs, which was cool but funny because he also joined Nicki on stage at her concert this year. Him and Usher performed around strippers while throwing money and giving shots to girls in the audience. It was def giving ATL vibes. Overall, Usher put on a great show and we really enjoyed ourselves.
