Recap <3
For my big 21st birthday weekend, I reserved a room at the Motor City Casino Hotel in downtown Detroit, MI. The hotel was amazing! The casino was fun, the bars were great, and it was just such a unique atmosphere. Before most of my friends arrived, myself along with some of my closest friends who came early, went to eat at one of my favorite places called Pizza Papalis. After that, the night consisted of running up and down elevators between the casino and room, friends coming in and out, and me trying a few different drinks. It was a great time until the night turned a little sour. While I was at one of the bars downstairs with some girlfriends, some of my guests smoked in my room! One word of advice, NEVER EVER DO THAT. We all had to pay the consequences, which means getting kicked out and charged a handsome fee. So, if you ever want to host a hotel night at a fancy place, be aware of what everyone is doing, make your rules VERY clear, follow all of the hotel’s rules, and be safe! Also, when unfortunate things like this happen, just move on with your life because bad situations make a great story later on down the road.
The Little Black Dress <3
For my special night I wore a black, studded, Michael Kors dress. I found it on sale for $65 (normally $200) at Nordstrom Rack. Since it was cold outside, I paired it with black tights, black wedged booties, and a black leather jacket. I felt great in it! Not only is black a slimming color, but this dress can be reused for many more occasions. I also brought a long a pair of black, flat boots to change into when my feet started to hurt (always bring flat shoes with you). My accessories were simple since the dress was already decked out in silver studs. I wore silver earrings and my black fossil watch. My hair was a cascade of curls bobby pinned to one side and it literally took me less than 45 minutes. What do you think of this look?
Thank you to everyone who came <3
Aside from the incident that happened with some of my friends, I am grateful for everyone who came to celebrate with me. It’s nice to see old friends from high school, as well as realize how great your new friends are.
Much Love, Kayla
xoxo
