On my birthday last weekend, I planned an eventful weekend for my friends and I. We had a yummy brunch at Row House in Harlem, then they accompanied me on a photoshoot (I’m extra, I know). And afterwards, I wanted to do something fun that none of us had ever done. So, where did we end up? Madame Tussauds, the famous wax museum. The NYC location is right on Times Square and it was only around $30 for general admission. We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into.
To our surprise, it was so much fun! We knew it would be cool, but what we didn’t know was that there would be $10 margaritas, amazingly realistic and interactive set-ups, and a lot of good music. Every room had an extravagant set, just waiting for us to take hundreds of selfies. My personal favorite was the Project Runway room, which included wax figures of Heidi Klum and Anna Wintour, along with a station to design an outfit and a station to pose for Marie Claire Magazine. Some other wax figures I saw that were exciting for me personally were Carmelo Anthony (he was my favorite basketball player growing up), Marilyn Monroe, and The Spice Girls were pretty cool. It turned out to be a very memorable day.
xoxo, Kayla
