Steampunk Vampire Costume For The CosGala Monster Ball

Steampunk Vampire Costume For The CosGala Monster Ball

My friends and I love to dress up — we’ve done everything from a Steve Harvey party to an old lady night out to a Barbie picnic. So, when it comes to Halloween events, we don’t play around. My friend Anuli is a cosplay host and influencer and my other friend Leah and I dabble in plus size cosplay from time to time. So when Anuli cohosts events, we often go to support and show off what looks we come up with. Most recently, we traveled to Baltimore, Maryland for The CosGala Monster Ball. A lot of people went as specific characters (and they looked incredible), but I decided to go with a more general costume. I styled a plus size steampunk vampire costume with a lot of items that I already owned.

Plus Size Steampunk Vampire Costume

I’ve never done a vampire look before and I thought it was the perfect way to look spooky, but still kind of dress up for the event. And I decided to make it a steampunk vampire costume because of the cool and affordable accessories I found. I wore a red and black floral corset top from Shein and a black tulle skirt I’ve had for years (similar). My black combat boots are from Target (similar) and pretty much all of the accessories are from Amazon. For my vampire teeth, I got a gold fang grill set. It was a little tricky to put on, but I really like the way it looked. For the steampunk aspect, I added some lace-up fingerless gloves and red circle glasses.

For my hair, I made a sleek bun and added a fake ponytail so I could have red ombré hair for the night. My makeup took the vampire vibes to the next level thanks to the sparkly red face stickers that look like dripping blood. Surprisingly, they stayed on really well! And I did a dramatic winged eyeliner and a red and black ombré lip (which I was pretty proud of, ngl). I love how this steampunk vampire costume came together!
