January 2019 Favorites

January 2019 Favorites

It’s officially been a year since I started my “favorites” series! I wasn’t sure if I was going to continue it this year or not, but I ultimately decided to because I really enjoy sharing what I love and experience with you guys, and these kind of posts are a fun and easy way to do that. I want to thank you all so much for being here and supporting my blog in this new year! I am super excited for 2019 and I already have tons of new ideas to make my blog better than ever.

In January, I brought in the New Year at my apartment with my best friend. I turned 25! I had a fun time celebrating in the city with my friends. I met Olivia Culpo at an Express PR event and I interviewed Kim Kardashian’s makeup artist, Mario! I also took a trip to Philly for the first time (content coming soon).

January Favorites

Beauty: I am currently so obsessed with my latest Kylie Cosmetics lip kit, “Dolce K.” I bought it at Ulta ($29) and I’ve been wearing it almost every day! I always get compliments on it and it goes with literally every makeup look and outfit.

Fashion: For the last couple months, I’ve been obsessed with my Sesame Yeezy 350 Boost sneakers. I wear them all the time because they’re comfortable and they go with a lot of my clothes. I got them on Black Friday and I paid retail for them!

Book: In January, I read It by Alexa Chung. It’s a really popular book that I feel like many fashion bloggers and influencers own. It’s basically a book of Alexa’s inspirations, so it’s kind of sporadic. It’s easy to read a few pages and come back to it later. I liked the creativity of it and the unique voice she has. She’s very spunky and funny.

TV: I watched most of American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace. It was so creepy! But really interesting. I finally finished one of my favorite shows of all time, The Fosters. I’m so sad it’s over! I also finished Fuller House and got so into it that I went on Hulu and started watching the original Full House!

Movies: I watched Dumplin’ on Netflix and I thought it was super cute. I even cried! I also went to see Aquman in the theater and I enjoyed that as well. Jason Momoa is some mighty fine eye candy.

Music: Once again, I have to give it to my girl Ari! I think “7 Rings” is a BOP! I’ve heard the controversy about it being materialistic, but so is about 90% of music out there! I think this song is actually fun and empowering.

Bylines: I had a feature story published by NYLON that I really enjoyed working on! It’s all about sneakerhead culture. I also wrote about my favorite mascara for TODAY. Check out the stories below!

“How Sneakerhead Culture Has Changed Since Its Early Days”

“This $5 mascara with 1,400 reviews gives me lashes so long they look fake”
