Family Holiday: Houston, TX

Family Holiday: Houston, TX

In December, right before Christmas, I took a trip to Texas to visit my aunt. This was my second time visiting her down south (the last time was in 2015). This time, my whole dad’s side of the family flew in too. I got to spend time with my aunts, cousins, grandma, uncle and my dad. It was so nice because we we don’t all get to see each other very often. And since all of us were visiting for the holidays, my aunt who lives there hosted all of us and strung together a weekend of adventures.

On the first day, the whole family went out to dinner together. Then, I got see Beauty and The Beast with my aunt and cousin. I love seeing plays and I love Disney movies, so of course I had a wonderful time. The show was a lot like the film and, of course, they performed all of the classic songs. My favorite number was definitely “Be Our Guest.”

The next day, my aunt had a party at her house. One of my best friends, Kymo, recently moved to Texas and he was able to come to the party so it was really nice seeing him. We had a frozen cocktail machine, games, food and a fire outside. It was really nice and my aunt sure knows how to throw a party.

The following day, we traveled to Galveston Island. We walked along the beach, got some food and then went to a holiday light show! It was really beautiful outside and the holiday lights were a really fun way to end the day. I could totally get used to it being sunny and 60 degrees in December!

And the last day, before I traveled to Michigan for Christmas, we had a big family brunch! We had bagels, quiche, mimosas, the works! It was delicious and a great close to a fun weekend.

Check out my vlog from the trip too!

xoxo, Kayla
