Last Wednesday was National Lipstick Day! Although I’m a little late, I figured it was still a good time to share some of my faves. Lipstick can change up your whole mood. It can transform your outfit. It has this power to make your feel bold and confident. I love trying new brands and shades. I mostly wear mattes, but I’m also a fan of glossy, satin, or velvet formulas as well. My go-to color is a darker nude or brown, but I LOVE to play with unexpected colors. I own everything from green to blue to orange. Here are some lipsticks you should try if you haven’t already!
1. Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint, $25
This liquid lipstick is super lightweight and longwear. I love how pigmented it is. “Uncensored” is my go-to shade.
2. Tarte Matte Lip Paint, $20
This liquid lipstick dries really fast and stays in place for hours. My go-to shade is “Exposed.”
3. The Lip Bar Liquid Matte Lipstick, $13
The Lip Bar is one of my favorite Black-owned businesses. They have tons of bold options that are highly pigmented and super comfortable to wear. My go-to shade is “Prom Queen.”
4. Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kit, $29
I love Kylie Jenner’s lip kits because they don’t dry out my lips and they last all day. Plus, they come with a matching liner. My go-to shade is “Dolce K.”
5. MAC Lipstick, $19
MAC lipsticks are the OG’s in my opinion. Although this shade is sold out from their collaboration with Nicki Minaj, I love that there are always tons of shades and finishes to choose from.
6. Fenty Beauty Mattemoiselle Lipstick, $13
Rihanna did it again with this one. This lipstick is soft on the lips and available in so many fun shades. I have a few adventurous colors in this lipstick, but here I’m wearing “Midnight Wasabi.”
7. Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink, $7
This budget-friendly liquid lipstick applies smoothly and effortlessly and the color lasts for hours. My go-to shade is “Romantic.”
8. Il Makiage Longwear Matte Lip Cream, $22
This brand is newer to me, but I’m really loving it. The liquid lipstick is comfortable and doesn’t crack or dry out my lips. I’m loving this orange hue, “Fiesta.”
