With just about a month or so left of summer, I personally plan on squeezing in as many swimsuit pics and warm weather looks as possible. And as much as I love bike shorts and sundresses, one thing I’ll definitely miss most is the ability to wear cute shoes without worrying about them getting ruined from the snow and salt. Sneakers are my jam, but I also love a cute pair of sandals. And there are SO many cute shoe trends popping up lately, no matter what your style is. So, in honor of making the most of our late summer wardrobes, I wanted to share the five summer shoe trends that I’ve been loving this year!
1. Clear Sandals
Clear sandals and heels have been hot lately and they’re a great option because they easily go with everything. Since I’m not really a heels girl, I opted for this flat sandal from Steve Madden. I love the stud details because it gives them a little something extra.
2. Neon Sneakers
I love bright colors and I feel like summer is the perfect time to rock them. Even if you prefer neutrals, having a vibrant sneaker in your wardrobe is an easy way to spice things up. These lime green kicks are from the Comme Des Garçons x Converse collab.
3. Chunky Slides
I love that this trend is a combination of slides, which is a summer staple, and chunky dad shoes, which have made a major fashion comeback. These Fila slides are super comfy, easy to throw on, and fun to style.
4. Color Block Sneakers
As I mentioned above, summer is the perfect time to play with bold colors. Don’t be afraid to pick up a sneaker with an unexpected colorway. There are also plenty of options out there right now with mixed prints and textures. This Puma RS-X style is especially great for adding something fun and unexpected to your wardrobe.
5. Platform Sandals
Platform sandals are one of my favorite trends lately because they are WAY more comfy than heels, but still give me the extra height when I’m wearing a long dress or flowy pants. These ones are from Steve Madden and I’ve probably worn them 20 times this summer. They’re so easy to style, I’ve worn them to a wedding, on vacation, and for photoshoots without getting any blisters.
