What To Wear To A Winter Wedding

What To Wear To A Winter Wedding

I’m definitely at the age wear I’m getting invited to more and more weddings every year. I personally love getting dressed up for a wedding, but one season in particular that can be difficult is winter. So, if you’ve ever stressed over what to wear to a winter wedding, then this post is for you! I have an outfit combination that has kind of become my go-to for this particular occasion.

Winter Wedding Outfit Idea

My very simple formula for what to wear to a winter wedding is: a velvet dress and tights. Velvet is the perfect texture for winter and it has a way of looking classy, luxe, and trendy all at the same time. And no matter what length of dress you prefer, tights are the perfect way to make sure you stay warm. Because there are so many different ways to pull this look off, you can easily switch up the color scheme and accessories.

For my best friend’s cousin’s wedding, I wore this pink velvet dress from Forever 21 with black tights and black heels. I got tons of compliments on this dress and it was super affordable. Texture just has a way of elevating a look. This dress also worked well for winter because it has long sleeves. I kept the accessories super simple for this one with a silver necklace and earrings.

And for another winter wedding, I did the same combination in a slightly different style. I still wore a short velvet dress and tights, but I opted for more of a jewel tone dress with a ruffle, off-the-shoulder top. I think this dress is from Forever 21 as well. And I wore gray knitted tights simply because they were the warmest ones I owned. Black tights would have obviously worked with this look too. For accessories, I went with a statement necklace that complemented the color of the dress. And my black velvet flats from ASOS coordinated with the texture of the dress.
