As someone who has been a sneakerhead since grade school, I believe that you can wear sneakers with almost any outfit. If I’m going out to have a good time, I don’t want to worry about my feet being in pain after an hour. And now that summer is coming to an end, I wanted to share a few stylish ways to dress up sneakers for fall.
Don’t get me wrong, I love to wear my boots and booties too, but adding a dope sneaker to a cute fall outfit just hits different. Living in New York City for 6+ years has really helped me be more adventurous with my outfits — especially when it comes to mixing style and comfort. So, if you’re someone who is starting to get into wearing sneakers more or maybe you’ve always loved sneakers but you’re looking for ways to take your fall outfits to the next level, this post is for you.
Mini dress or romper and tights
I recently got this plaid romper from Forever 21 and I paired it with some caramel tights from Snag. Sure, booties would be cute with this, but instead I went for my sneakers. My Superstar Bonega shoes are comfy and they have super chic details, such as the embroidered 3-stripes and gold details. I think the colors and elevated sole really complemented this mini dress silhouette. And tights are always a great addition when temps start to drop. There are plenty of ways to replicate this look in your own way, especially with similar styles like tennis skirts or golf clothes, which also look super cute with sneakers.
Flowy pants and a matching top
Although flowy sheer pant sets like this are often more of a summer trend, I feel like sheer pieces are also great to transition into fall because they’re easy to layer. This printed set is from Target’s Future Collective and it’s become one of my favorite outfits. I paired it with my Converse Run Star Motion CX Platforms. For accessories, I added some thrifted round sunglasses and a Brandon Blackwood purse.
Oversized T-shirt dress and corset belt
In addition to running shoes, adidas also has some great plus size clothing options. I got this oversized T-shirt dress from there and it’s extremely comfy. To accentuate my waist, I added a corset belt. I accessorized with some black sunnies and a black choker. This edgy, yet casual look was perfect for hanging out in the city and grabbing food with a friend.
Matching knit top and midi skirt
I love a knit set for fall, especially in this dark green color. This outfit is from Shein and I paired it with some Nike Air Force 1 Upsteps and a leather Shinola purse.
Long-sleeve maxi dress
One of my favorite things to wear in the fall is a long-sleeve dress. And yup, I like to wear sneakers with them too! This vibrant multicolor dress is from Xpluswear (use my code KAYLA12 to get 12% off your order). To play on the colors in the dress, I added an orange Steve Madden bag and my yellow Fila Disrupters. I wore this look to a press event and got tons of compliments, plus it was super comfy to dance in all night.
Would you wear any of these looks?
