In my opinion, jackets are one of the best ways to transform an outfit. It’s one of the few things I actually look forward to when the temperatures start to drop. Of course, everyone needs a warm winter coat and probably a denim and a leather jacket in their closet. But, in recent years, I’ve been trying to keep an eye out for more stylish plus size jackets that can really take my outfits to another level. If you’re on the search for some new cold weather staples or you also want to find some unique, fun outerear, then here are some of my recommended stores to check out.
1. adidas
Whether you’re looking for an athletic style or more of a streetwear vibe, adidas has a great selection of women’s jackets. And right now they’re up to 65% off (just use promo code OCTOBER at checkout)! They have everything from their classic track jackets, to cozy fleeces, to warm puffer coats. The plus size options go up to size 4X. But my latest obsession is my new versatile trench coat. In addition to a trench, it can also be worn as a vest or a crop jacket.
2. Forever 21
If you’re looking for a plus size jacket that’s trendy and affordable, then don’t sleep on Forever 21. They offer up to size 4X on many styles and most are under $50. My coat closet if full of F21 finds, including denim, faux leather, faux fur, blazers, and bombers.
3. Dia & Co.
Dia & Co. offers various brands and styles. Sizing varies a bit, but most jackets go up to a 5X. I have a white denim jacket from there and it’s super stretchy and comfy, definitely one of my favorites for spring and fall.
4. ASOS
Asos is one of my go-to retailers for quality, fashionable pieces. And their selection of jackets is no exception. They carry a variety of different brands, as well as their own, and many items go up to a size 26. This long teddy coat might even be my absolute favorite winter coat. It’s super warm and such a statement piece.
5. Rebdoll
Rebdolls is a woman-owned business and one of the newer additions to my list of go-to clothing stores. They carry sizes 0–32. Because this brand was founded by a woman of color, Grisel Paula, their site features models that are actually all different sizes and skin tones, with more of a focus on women of color. It’s very refreshing to see. I own a faux leather blazer jacket and I wear it ALL the time, especially during fall.
6. Rainbow
I’m sure many of you grew up going into Rainbow, like I did. And if you didn’t, then you should check it out. It’s a super affordable clothing shop, so although the quality probably won’t last you for years and years, they have tons of cute jackets for less than $40. This longline denim jacket is actually a few years old now and I always get compliments on it. Sometimes you can really find a good gem in there! Most of the jackets in their plus size section go up to a 3X or 4X.
7. Amazon
Of course, Amazon is known for having thousands of options for pretty much everything — including jackets. Since things come from different brands and sellers on there, it’s important to pay attention to the size charts. Two jackets that I would totally recommend are THE Orolay coat that’s gone viral many times (up to a size 5X) and a popular faux shearling jacket (up to a size 3X).
8. Target
We all know it and love it! Target can have some great plus size jacket finds both in store and online. I have a metallic puffer coat that I found in store and it’s super cute and very warm. They carry up to a size 4X in their plus size options. Lately, I’ve been especially loving their Future Collective releases.
9. Shein
I know Shein has come under a lot of fire lately, so I support and respect anyone who chooses not to shop there. But, the reason I included them on this list is because I do own a couple of jackets from there that I love. Most plus items go up to a size 4X and the prices are basically unbeatable. This faux fur black coat is such an easy and fabulous way to upgrade an outfit in the winter. I love it so much. And I also got my fuzzy cow print jacket from Shein, which I wore to be cute and warm while on a ski trip.
10. Fashion Nova
Fashion Nova is basically the go-to fast fashion retailer for baddies. So if you’re looking for jackets that are sexy and chic, this is a great place to look. They offer up to a size 3X and tons of different styles. I have a gorgeous faux suede pastel trench coat from there.
