Halloween time is here, which means it’s time to start asking the real questions — like, how am I supposed to find a costume that’s cute, but also comfortable, that’s kinda unique, but also one that people will understand? Over the years, I’ve had a lot of fun planning out my Halloween costumes, but I’m also no stranger to the whole, “What can I order last-minute on Amazon?” And when you’re plus size, it can be that much harder to create or hunt down the perfect costume. From store-bought to uniquely styled, here are some curvy girl Halloween costume Ideas for my fellow plus size babes who want to slay spooky season without sacrificing a bit of comfort or confidence. (Oh, and enjoy my adorable little Bratz doll illustrations with each outfit lol.)

1. Witch

You can never go wrong with a classic witch moment. All you really need is a black outfit, a hat, and the right attitude — aka, “Don’t try me, I cast spells and set boundaries.” This big, flexible witch hat from Amazon is one I’ve had for years and it’s perfect for a last-minute costume. The rest of the outfit was pieced together from random things in my closet. And don’t forget a dark lipstick!

2. Pirate

There’s something about a pirate costume that just makes you want to yell “arrrr” while sipping a rum and coke. I love this one because it’s sexy and comfy — flowy blouse, adjustable high-low skirt, boots, a vest, and a little corset belt that cinches the waist, but doesn’t restrict any movement. And don’t forget the gold jewelry (love this skull necklace), hair charms and cuffs, a bandana, and a pirate hat, of course! All of these pieces were bought individually on Amazon.

3. Reggie Rocket (Rocket Power)

This costume had me living my Nickelodeon childhood dream. Reggie was the cool tomboy skater girl we all secretly wanted to be, and recreating her look felt like the perfect mix of nostalgia and confidence — bright colors, bold attitude, and zero apologies. I found this Rocket Power T-shirt on Amazon, as well as the purple wig and the red sunglasses. My camo pants are from Fashion Nova and I added some red Jordan sneakers.

4. Cher Horowitz (Clueless)

Ugh, as if I wouldn’t dress up as one of the queens of ’90s fashion. The plaid skirt, the knee-high socks, the preppy perfection — it’s all so fun and fabulous. I got this full costume from Dolls Kill (it’s sold out now). The blonde wig is from Amazon and so is the blow-up phone prop.

5. Cow

If any of my plus size babes have ever been called a “cow” before, you’re not alone. And it’s time to take that power back by being the hottest cow anyone has ever seen! This is an easy, fun look that still totally gives main character energy. Just wear any cow print outfit and add the ears. My cow ears headband and milk purse are from Amazon. And my fuzzy jacket and two-piece set are from Shein.

6. Lola Bunny (Space Jam)

Lola Bunny was one of my favorite cartoon characters growing up. She’s sporty, sassy, and doesn’t play games (except basketball). I loved how fun and flirty this look was — just the right balance of athletic and sexy. This full costume is from Fashion Nova.

7. Misty (Pokémon)

If you grew up on Pokémon, you already know Misty was that girl. Her outfit is simple but iconic — yellow crop top, red suspenders, and denim shorts. It’s cute, comfy, and the perfect low-effort costume that still gets instant recognition. I wore some denim shorts (I think they’re Good American) and Jordan sneakers that I already owned, paired with a yellow top, suspenders, orange wig, and plush Poké Ball from Amazon.

8. Ariel (The Little Mermaid)

This one made me feel like a full-on Disney princess. Between the shell-like ruched bra (Savage X Fenty) and the shimmering mermaid skirt (Amazon), it’s giving “under the sea, but make it fashion.” The best part? You can make it as glam or as DIY as you want — either way, you’ll feel magical. I added a starfish and seashell gold necklace for fun and got my hair done in red passion twists.

9. Disco Diva

This costume is the perfect excuse to live your Studio 54 fantasy and dance like you’ve got no work tomorrow. I found this fun satin and feather-trimmed two-piece set from Shein, added some white boots, and big sparkly sunglasses. Simple and groovy!

10. Vampire

Sexy but make it spooky — that’s the vampire formula. I love how you can play it mysterious, sultry, or full-on dramatic depending on your mood (and your lipstick shade). Just don’t forget the fake blood and vampire teeth. I went with a red and black steampunk vibe for this look. Most of it was stuff already in my closet. The ombré ponytail, lace-up gloves, fake teeth (they didn’t stay on well), red glasses, and fake blood face stickers are all from Amazon and the corset is from Shein.

11. Jenna Rink (13 Going on 30)

The iconic colorful dress, the butterfly clips, the early-2000s nostalgia — it’s playful and instantly recognizable. Honestly, who doesn’t want to live their “30, flirty, and thriving” fantasy for a night? I found the dress, hair clips, and butterfly necklace all on Amazon.

12. Angel

Sometimes you just want to be cute, glowy, and innocent-ish. An angel costume is simple but always hits — white outfit, wings, and a little extra shimmer on the cheekbones. It’s giving “heaven sent, but still knows how to have fun.” This full costume is from Dolls Kill and I added some white tights from Snag.

At the end of the day, Halloween is all about having fun and feeling yourself — no matter your size, shape, or how last-minute your Amazon order was. Whether you’re rocking sequins, spandex, or something spooky, the best costume is the one that makes you feel confident (and lets you dance around and eat candy without adjusting your outfit every five minutes). So go all out, take the pictures, and remember: curves look good in every costume. Period. 👏🎃
