First Impressions: Ritz & Glitz Beauty

First Impressions: Ritz & Glitz Beauty

Recently, one of my friends introduced me to an independent beauty brand called Ritz & Glitz. The brand was founded in Detroit, MI in 2017 by two sisters, Kyra and Kierra Dixson. Since I’m from that area, I’m always down to support a Detroit-based brand! According to their website, “They want everyone to have a taste of the elite high-touch, high-quality Ritz & Glitz lifestyle. Kyra and Kierra believe in creating the ambiance of affordable luxury.”

All of the Ritz & Glitz Beauty products are cruelty-free and vegan-friendly. So far, they sell lashes, lip products, and a face serum. I was gifted a few products to review and as always, these views are 100% honest and my own. I am so excited to share with you guys what I thought of this new makeup brand!

“Snob” Lipstick

This lipstick costs $13, which is a pretty reasonable price. It’s a mauve with  pinkish undertone. It makes a nice deep neutral color that could be easily worn daily. My favorite part is that the formula is very soft and rich. It goes on smoothly and doesn’t feel dry at all. It’s like a cross between a satin and a matte finish. I did have to reapply it throughout the day. But overall, I would definitely recommend giving it a try!

“Elixir” Lip Liner

This lipliner costs $10, which is a fair price. It’s a wine color that works well layered with the lipstick above. It does have a lot of pigment and it goes on smoothly. It’s really not dry at all, it’s actually pretty creamy. It stays on decently well.

“Sassy” Lipgloss

This lipgloss is consistent with the other two in both price point and formula. It costs $12 and it’s very comfortable to wear. It made my lips feel soft and it wasn’t sticky at all. The color is a nice light, pinkish nude. I would also apply this one throughout the day, but it doesn’t seem to flake or cause any issues.

Swatches

Lip liner, lipstick, and gloss (with flash).

Face Serum

Their Total Face Serum costs $25, so it’s slightly more than the other products. The oil can be used as a moisturizer and it is meant to have a natural anti-aging effect. “It helps promote skin cell renewal, lighten sun spots and acne scars, and reduce appearance of wrinkles,” according to the site. I thought it felt pretty nice on my skin. It definitely softened it and left it feeling moisturized. I would be down to keep using it and see if there are any long-term differences.

Packaging

The packaging is clean and simple. It looks very professional, like something I would find at the drugstore level. It’s very consistent with their prices and overall aesthetic.
