When it comes to my bedroom, my decor style is very eclectic. I love to combine different elements and styles. I love travel, mermaids, modern glam, and 90’s nostalgia. All of those random things flow into my personal style whether it’s what I wear or how I decorate my space.
When I was decorating my room, I decided to make a gallery wall above my bed (as you can see above). I knew I would need a few small shelves and other little things to help me make my room feel fun, but still organized, and most importantly feel like me. Since living in NYC is so expensive, I got a lot of cute items for super cheap at Five Below.
For those of you who are unfamiliar, Five Below is store wear everything is literally $5 or less. It’s kind of like a Dollar General, except more fun because it mostly has trendy decor, beauty products, candy, kids toys, office supplies, and even clothes.
Here are all of the things I have incorporated into my room that I got from Five Below.
Small Shelves & Succulents
I love succulents, but I am not so great at keeping them alive. So, I was really happy when I found these adorable fake plants (similar). I also got a 3-piece shelf set. They’re really small, but they were perfect for my little plants.
Mermaid Details
As I mentioned above, I love mermaids. I knew I needed a few little hooks, so this set of decorative mermaid and seashell hooks were perfect. I also got a cute little change holder to sit on my dresser that says “Save the Mermaids.”
Wood Shelf
When I found this little wooden shelf (similar), I was obsessed with it. I like things that are easy to put up and I really like the way it looks. I adorned it with little trinkets: a pineapple, a Moschino Coke can, and a couple of 90s Nicktoon figurines.
Iridescent Storage Ottoman
In my tiny apartment, I never seem to have enough storage space. I picked up this little storage ottoman to hold some of my random books and notebooks.
Faux Fur Pouf
I love having accents of faux fur. This inflatable ottoman with the fuzzy pink cover (similar) is great because I can use it for extra seating when people are over. And when it’s just sitting in the corner of my room, I often set stuff on it like magazines and mail or my clothes for the next day.
Over-the-Door Coat Hook
I also found a really handy over-the-door hook. It has really cute crystal knobs on it. I use it for my light jackets that I wear often and my robe.
