How To Style A Body Chain

Body chains are a severely underrated accessory. They often show up at Coachella or at a poolside photo shoot, but they can actually be incorporated into your regular everyday wardrobe as well. Now I must admit, I only own one body chain and I definitely don’t wear it often, but I think that every once in a while, it can be a really fun way to decorate your outfit!

So how does one go about styling a body chain? Well, they actually work with a lot more than you would think. You can pair a body chain with a crop top, a bodysuit, bodycon dress, and even a T-shirt.

Here is a few examples from Pinterest:

When looking at these examples, it’s important to note that most of the body chain photos online are on smaller bodies. I want to make it clear that you don’t need a flat stomach or certain kind of body to rock this trend. Body chains are often seen adorning bare skin, so I can see why that would be intimidating. But, accessories are all about having fun with your look and giving it some personality. And there are plenty of ways to style a body chain that don’t involve revealing a lot of skin (unless you want to, of course).

How I Style A Body Chain

My gold body chain is pretty extra. I bought it from Windsor a whileeee ago. I think that large ones like this are especially great for wearing over a simple bodysuit or fitted top. That’s what I opted for.

When styling a body chain, you’ll probably want to keep it simple. I layered mine over a black bodysuit because I knew it wouldn’t clash and would allow the body chain to shine. From there, I added a pair of high-waisted, wide-leg striped pants, and wedges. Wearing striped pants made it a little more busy, so that was kind of a risk. But, that’s why I kept the colors simple.

To complete the look, I added a gold crossbody purse, gold hoop earrings, and a gold watch. Adding more gold accents, helped make the body chain coordinate better. I also added a black blazer as a laying piece. It’s not only good for a chilly night, but also makes the look a bit more “professional,” depending on the occasion.

This outfit has a chic, business vibe, while still being sassy and adventurous. I think it could work for everything from a dinner date to a work event. If you wanted to go for more of a casual vibe, you could easily lose the blazer and swap the pants for jeans.
