August 2019 Favorites

It’s officially Fashion Month, it’s back-to-school season, and it’s time to embrace pumpkin spice everything. September also marks one year since I created my YouTube channel! Alas, the end of August means the closing of a pretty successful Hot Girl Summer. Last month, I wrote about Showfields and Rosé Mansion, I took myself on a date, I created a huge travel bucket list, and I celebrated by best friend’s birthday at a rooftop pool day club! It was so much fun and overall, this summer was pretty great! Check out some of my favorite things from August!

August Favorites

Beauty: My all-time favorite mascara, Lash Princess by Essence Cosmetics, only costs $5, and now they’ve made it into a waterproof formula! I’ve also really been liking a lightweight CC cream from Thrive Causemetics.

Fashion: My latest sneaker purchase is one I was particularly excited about. Artist Sue Tsai did a collab with Puma and I just had to have the dope platform sneakers she designed. I also got sent some sunglasses from DIFF eyewear. They were a collab with Taco Bell and super cute!

Movies: I recently watched Falling Inn Love with Christina Milian on Netflix. It was cute and super cheesy lol. I also saw The Kitchen in theaters with Tiffany Haddish and Melissa McCarthy. It was pretty badass! Lastly, I went and saw Hobbs and Shaw from the Fast and Furious franchise. Although I’m partial to the original characters, I do see a lot of potential in the spin-off.

TV: Reality TV has definitely gotten the best of me lately! I finished season one of the UK version of Love Island. I’ve also been hooked on Bachelor in Paradise. Last month I also watched season 3 of Dear White People, which I must admit was a little harder for me to get into compared to prior seasons. And I binged the controversial show 13 Reasons Why. Which, in my unpopular opinion, was really powerful and interesting.

Music: I’m sure it’s not surprising to anyone that I’m loving “Hot Girl Summer” by Megan Thee Stallion ft. Nicki Minaj. I’m also obsessed with Normani’s “Motivation” — if you haven’t seen her iconic basketball booty bump yet, then I suggest you watch the video right now!
