Last-Minute VSCO Girl Costume

Last-Minute VSCO Girl Costume

If you spend a decent amount of time on social media (or the internet in general) then you’ve probably heard of a VSCO girl. If you’re not familiar with a VSCO girl, it’s basically a trend going around with young people, mostly Gen Z teenagers. It’s today’s version of a “Tumblr girl” — a specific aesthetic that consists of specific behaviors and products, mostly stemmed from internet culture.

Quick facts about VSCO girls:

  • They use the photo editing app “VSCO” (hence the name).
  • They have a Tik Tok account.
  • They’re environmentally conscious, especially when it comes to saving sea turtles.
  • They overuse the phrases: “And I oop” and “Sksksksk.”
  • They embrace being #basic and are all about good vibes and positivity.
  • Think of their style as a mixture between the early 2000s, boho, and skate culture.
  • For a full list of VSCO girl-approved products, check out this article I wrote for BuzzFeed.

So due to my fascination with this trend, plus the fact that I own many VSCO girl things, I decided it would make a great last-minute Halloween costume. I wore this look for a party I attended last weekend and I figured I would share it in case anyone out there still doesn’t know what to dress up as.

My best friend Kailena did her own spin on the costume as well.

  • A LOT of scrunchies
