If you ever seen Gossip Girl then you’ve seen The Palace. It’s a luxury hotel in Manhattan (and the home of Serena van der Woodsen). And if you’ve never watched Gossip Girl, then you’ve likley come across the hotel’s huge Christmas tree on Instagram. The location has become a hot spot for bloggers and influencers to snag a few holiday shots. So this year, when my friend Morgan said she wanted to do a holiday-themed photoshoot, I was beyond excited.
When it comes to holiday fashion, there are a few things that pop into my mind: faux fur, glitter, and of course red and green. I knew I wanted to wear my faux fur cheetah print coat, but I knew that my dress would have to be more simple in order to not take away from the three too much. So I wore a deep red dress paired with black tights and black fuzzy boots. I accessorized with a velvet choker with a bow on it and large silver hoop earrings. I think red and animal print work together really well. The neutral colors of the black and tan allowed the red dress to add a little pop, which complemented the tree ornaments.
The location was gorgeous. There were huge wreaths all along the gate and then when you walk through the entrance, all you see is this enormous, fabulous tree decked out in red, gold and green. I sure did feel like I stepped into a Gossip Girl Christmas episode. This hotel is a NYC icon and really does look magical in person.
After we snapped tons of pictures around the tree, we walked over to the Cartier store at the corner of 52nd Street and Fifth Avenue, which is wrapped in a big, red light-up bow.
