May was full of travel and making memories! I always say how busy every month is, but this one had a great balance of relaxing and doing cool stuff. This past month I spent a weekend in Boston to shoot my cousin’s engagement photos; I vacationed in Puerto Rico for a week with my bestie; I saw Aladdin opening weekend; I met Antoni from Queer Eye at an OLLY event; I saw an amazing Frida Kahlo exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum; I had my first rooftop bar night of the summer; and I did some volunteer work with Story Pirates where some of my coworkers and I read kids’ stories and wrote them notes of encouragement to keep writing.

Beauty: I shared this on my Instagram recently, but I’ve really been into this new Shiseido WASO facial cleanser. It’s really lightweight, it smells good and it’s infused with Japanese honey. It makes my face feel clean and refreshed.

Fashion: This month I added a new purse to my collection. It’s a light pink nylon tote from Kate Spade and I think it’s a great bag for summer. It’s cute and simple and it’s on sale for only $79!

Movies: This month was big on movies. I checked out a lot of things on Netflix: Last Summer, Someone Great, New Romantics, Roxy, and SPF-18. They were all rom coms and all pretty good. I loved the female friendship showcased in Someone Great and I really enjoyed Last Summer. You should definitely check out at least those two on Netflix if you haven’t already. I also finally watched The Hate U Give — it was very powerful and I cried a lot. It’s a must watch. I saw Second Act with J.Lo and Vanessa Hudgens, which was very cute. And lastly, I saw Aladdin! It was great, I really enjoyed the cast, the music, and the cinematography.

TV: I was obsessed with season 3 of Riverdale! I watched the whole thing in one weekend! I can’t wait for season 4. I am still a huge Bughead shipper and I am so curious to see what mysteries the gang gets into next. That last scene of the last episode was crazy!

RIP Luke Perry <3

Book: Right now I’m at the very end of “The Mermaid’s Voice Returns in This One.” This is the third book in a collection of poetry by Amanda Lovelace. I love her work and I always rush to buy it right when it releases. Her poetry is very raw and relatable for me. It’s also easy to read and digest, but still very thought provoking. Would definitely suggest checking out her work.
