How To Throw A Halloween Girls’ Night In

For a few years in a row now, my friends and I have got together for Halloween girls’ nights. We usually vote on a movie, have snacks and drinks, and play some games. It’s always a good time! If you’re an adult who doesn’t feel like going out for Halloween, but you still want to get in on the fun, then try hosting a Halloween girls’ night in! Hopefully this can give you some ideas for your own spooky celebration.

Spooky Cocktails

The most popular drink of the night is often the Poison Apple Cocktail I found on Homemade Food Junkie. It is sooo good and I highly recommend trying it (even if it’s not Halloween). And I bought a pack of really great recyclable plastic mason jars to serve drinks in. I’ve also made a Candy Corn Apple Pucker Margarita I found on Totally The Bomb. It’s cute, but a little too strong for me.

Decor

One year when I hosted, I bought a felt ball pom pom garland in Halloween colors, some adorable LED pumpkin balloons, and some spooky plates, napkins, and cups (mostly so we didn’t have to do the dishes afterwards). I also put out a cauldron-shaped bowl filled with candy that I picked up at TJ Maxx.

Another year, when my friend Leah hosted, she decorated a snack table with spider webs, a cauldron, plastic spiders, eyeballs, and more. It turned out so cute!

Activities

As I mentioned above, we always vote on a movie. It’s usually not too scary. In the past, we’ve watched Hocus Pocus 2, Queen of the Damned, and The Craft. In addition to eating and laughing a lot, we’ve also played games, like What Do You Meme?

We also like to take pictures in either Halloween pajamas or costumes. One year, I set up a photo booth. I basically just hung a black fringe curtain on the wall and set up my ring light. I spent half of the night in my cozy Halloween pj’s and the other half dressed as Cher from Clueless.
