NYFW FW22 Recap

Another New York Fashion Week is officially in the books! This season I kept my schedule pretty light. I feel like since Covid it’s a little bit more difficult to get into the big shows. Plus, I honestly haven’t had as much energy as I have in the past to pitch myself and attend every event and party. But, with all of that said, I still feel super fortunate to be invited to shows and have a front row seat to some of the most amazing fashion ahead of the season. For NYFW FW22, I attended a mixture of runway shows and presentations. All of them were pretty cool! It was freezing here in New York, so I didn’t go all out with my outfits like I would have liked, but overall I definitely enjoyed myself. Here’s a look at everything I did!

What I Wore To NYFW FW22

I only shot one look this Fashion Week, so here’s a quick glance at what I wore each day:

Top left: Good American top, Eloquii Elements faux leather joggers, Forever 21 coat, Ivy Park x Adidas belt bag, Converse Run Star Motion Platforms

Top right: Shae Anthony x F21 top, Ivy Park x Adidas crop jacket, plaid skort, Snag tights, Forever 21 faux leather trench coat, Ron Bass x F21 basketball bag, “Coconut Milk” Jordan OG’s

Bottom left: KOTN dress, Rebdolls faux leather blazer, Target boots, Telfar bag

Bottom right: Comme des Garçons T-shirt, ASOS shaket, Brandon Blackwood bag, Comme des Garçons x Converse sneakers, Fashion Nova jeans, Amazon sunglasses

Tanya Taylor Presentation

The Tanya Taylor presentation had tons of garments to look through. It was located at the brand’s Manhattan showroom. I loved all the colors and prints. There were probably over a dozen pieces that made me go, “I need that!” From feathery sweaters to vibrant knit dresses, everything looked super chic and wearable. It was totally up my alley.

Flying Solo Runway Show

Flying Solo is a fashion collective made up of 45+ independent and local designers, with a storefront in Soho. This fashion show was one of the most unique ones I’ve attended because it took place outside on a rooftop… in the snow! The show ran in separate parts that were roughly an hour long. I only stayed for the first hour because I was freezing, but during that time I was able to see ton of incredible designs! Despite being super nervous that a model would slip and fall on the wet, snowy runway, the show was gorgeous. It’s fun to be able to see a variety of different styles and creators in one big show. It’s definitely a show I would attend again (yes, even in the winter).

Greedilous by Tilda Runway Show

Greedilous is a Seoul-based fashion brand, led by creative director Younhee Park. Their “Flowers on Venus” capsule collection was co-created by LG’s latest Artificial Intelligence, “Tilda.” The show, which took place at Spring Studios, was the first collab of its kind. The clothes featured a mixture of streetwear styles and more feminine, flowy pieces. There were tons of fun prints and colors used. A lot of layering and oversized silhouettes. I especially loved the statement outerwear! They also incorporated some video elements, which felt very futuristic. It was a super cool and unique show to attend.

Tanner Fletcher Presentation

Tanner Fletcher is a Brooklyn-based genderless brand specializing in responsibly designed ready-to-wear that pushes the boundaries between masculinity and femininity, according to their site. This presentation took place at the Freehand Hotel, which was the perfect venue to display the ’70s-inspired “Housewarming Party” collection. The interiors and the clothes in the space played off each other perfectly. It all felt very cohesive and beautiful, like a painting. Everything felt nostalgic, yet still modern. It definitely felt like a cool housewarming party that you wanted to be invited to.
